Get More Sales at Liquor Stores With Free Layout

Angel's Share is a liquor store located in Gambrills, Maryland, between Annapolis and Washington, D.C. So named for the small amount of whiskey that evaporates during the aging process, it's a family-owned business dedicated to maintaining relationships with its customers. It's also built strong ties with Gambrills and other communities in the southern Baltimore metro area to sell high-quality bourbon, whiskey, and wine.

As their new store was close to opening, Angel's Share got in touch with DGS Retail to discuss store design. The store design has a very rustic feel, including classic Edison light bulbs and reclaimed wood. The signs reflect that vintage store design look while directing customers to various liquor products.

The liquor category signs feature chalkboard-style copy on digitally printed signs. The signs are mounted to the black gondola shelving fixtures with low-cost header frames. These are attached to the perforated holes on the top shelf or directly to the finished walls. When attached to the shelves, the sign frames also have the ability to pivot forward creating an ideal space to hold overstock in a small store. Faux or printed chalkboard is a great form of signage in many situations like this. For this store, it would assert a look that made it feel more like part of the countryside, as though near a whiskey distillery without the mess and inconsistency of using actual chalk.

For the gondola aisle signs, the chalkboard theme was continued on the interchangeable category signs. These hang from the height-adjustable metal sign brackets and are easily swapped-out as inventory changes from season to season. Each aisle sign also got a 3D dimensional sign featuring the store's logo prominently to reinforce the brand.

Despite a limited time frame between initial inquiry and store opening, DGS Retail delivered quality results to Angel's Share, as shown in these photos. Everything was received in time for the store to open. The client was so satisfied with the design and execution and returned to us as a source for additional liquor store equipment.
