The Secret to Ethnic Food Store Design and Signage Layout

Deli 4 You is a chain of specialty grocery stores located in the Chicagoland area. They sell a wide variety of food products imported from Eastern Europe and elsewhere. Each location runs a full-service grocery with Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, and Slovak items, including a bakery that makes paçzkis and crepes and a deli that makes fresh kielbasa. They also run a catering service for events.

When opening their first store in Norridge, Illinois, Deli 4 You contacted DGS Retail to help them design the layout. They were particularly interested in our wide variety of grocery store signage and decor signs, including hanging retail signs and large scale food photography wall banners for departments. Their goal was to emphasize an artisanal quality to their store, promoting it as a high-end place to get Eastern European food.

DGS Retail provided free store design services and worked with the owners to get the layout just right. Deli 4 You selected our line of City Store decor and grocery store perimeter wall signs. DGS Retail modified the designs to their specifications and provided color proofs of the final sign designs for approval. The signs feature 3D dimensional letters and raised details that give it an upscale urban store look. Stock photography of the produce, deli meats and other foods were selected and then purchased for use in the large scale hanging images. Other store signage including hanging circle signs were used over service areas like the checkouts and service desk. 

The end result is quality signage that tell customers not only what they're looking for but where they're shopping. It truly reflected the upscale nature of Deli 4 You. The company was so happy with the result they came back for similar orders on two additional stores.
